About the author
Willy Mitchell was born in Glasgow, Scotland. He spent a lot of time in bars growing up. He always appreciated stories- some of which were true, some imagined, and some delusional. Where stories were true, Willy Mitchell was there!
A shipyard worker, he headed down from Scotland to Yorkshire with his family to work in the steel mills. He retired and decided to write some of the tales he had heard all those years ago and focused on bringing those stories to life.
Introduction
This book “Operation Argus” is fast-paced, thoughtful, and personal. It consists of an insightful story that touches everyone’s mind and their hearts, it creates an intrigued sense for the search of the truth.
This is a fictional story based on true events as five former and one serving, SAS soldiers converge for a funeral and find themselves in a different situation, one where everything is changed once again.
Their leader Mitch and his colleagues suspect foul play in the death of their friend. Unfortunately, he wasn’t the first SAS operative to die under peculiar circumstances. Summary
Five retired SAS operatives Mitch, Bob, Mac, Ryan, Jimmy except for Sam who is still in active duty, attended the funeral of their old pal, who died by heart attack: Paul. He was a CIA worker who wanted to share the information regarding US election rigging.
After the funeral party, the team decides to dig into the truth and come to know about the death of another old SAS member, Badger who died in some strange circumstances. Mitch approached Paul’s associate, Brad, who was working closely with him.
During a meet and greet, Brad died in front of Mitch’s eyes, who catches a glimpse of Tommy Boyle, an Irish gang leader giving a toothless grin. In retaliation, he put the screw on Tommy who spits the name, “Dimitry Dankov”. This flags various questions in front of them. To unearth the mystery behind these strange killings they named the mission “CODE: ARGUS”.
Development in the story
After getting the information about Badger being killed by the Colombian cartel, Mitch and his boys decided to seek assistance from their resourceful friends, who have connections around all the world.
On the other scene, there’s a guy named Nikita, who works in first world Bank and is a master predictor of betting games. Coincidentally, he is also a friend of Bella, Mitch’s daughter. They both fly off to France to celebrate his victory. During their trip, they get involved in a planned attack. Nikita rushes off with Bella to his father’s protection but is himself kidnapped by none other than his own mother, Viktoria Saparov.
While all this is happening, Mitch’s team investigates Badger’s death in Morocco and finds a link connecting the Russian and Colombian cartels. Searching further, they come across a new Colombian gambler who was hired to kill Badger by Dimitry Dankov and Viktoria: a group of Political influencers who want to quench their thirst for the greed of more money that lurks in the shadow under the veil of maskirovka.
Nikita’s boss commits suicide, the fabricated attempt by Viktoria to make his son the CEO so that he could take control of the First World Bank.
The team has already finished off the Colombian gambler, marking their first victory step.
Entering the National cybersecurity center based in the UK, they weakened the network system by destroying the enemy’s plan. In upcoming events, Jimmy who was headed back to Lithuania steps up to help his old buddies and dies a heroic death. All the puppeteers working in Dimitry’s show end up dead as the result of their own deeds. Dimitry for his own karma was hunted by an assassinator.
After seeing so many deaths and passing through such eventful encounters Mitch thinks it’s time to return home.

Recommendation
I would recommend Operation Argus only to those folks who enjoy reading military operations. This book shows the reality of retirement after active years of SAS soldiers’ life, giving a new dimension to look forward to. This book also proved the statement “once a soldier, always a soldier” and focuses on a brotherhood that is forged in fire and cannot be destroyed so easily. It makes us ponder about the life of retired soldiers who were forced to think of a new career at such a crucial age.
The book is enjoyable for youngsters who want to consider their career in the military as it depicts the life of those veteran soldiers. It is also suitable for adults who are facing the midlife crisis as it displays the way of dealing with it.
Operation Argus manifests the reality of political scenarios around the world. A world that is not only run by the citizens but also by the underworld force who uses it to enhance their powerhouse. The book presents a glimpse of what’s going around the globe and of much to be discovered.
